Wendy - An amazing lady who will be missed by many people.

Wendy was born in London just as World War II started and having grown up in West London she trained as a Radiographer at Mount Vernon hospital, following this career until she retired at 60.
Wendy had enormous energy, patience compassion, and understanding.
While being Mum to Mandi, Penny and Brett she continued working as a Radiographer, helped run a playgroup and worked alongside Brian in setting up and running Culford Fencing.
Brian and Wendy’s children consider themselves incredibly lucky to have had such amazing parents.
Wendy became known as Ma to her grandchildren, Kieran Matthew and Louise and subsequently to anyone else that knew her.

Thoughts

I have some very happy and fond memories of Ma. She had a love for life and for her family and friends. Her warmth and happy disposition made her pleasure to be around. I'm so lucky I got to see her last year. She will be greatly missed.

I was nineteen when I was first introduced to Brian and his lovely girlfriend Wendy, by my very new girlfriend Angela. Angela and Brian both lived in the Buckinghamshire village of Hedgerley. I am sure Brian was driving an ancient three wheeler car at the time. Later when we married our sweethearts, Brian and Wendy moved to live in Suffolk, and my job took Angela and me to Stowmarket just twenty miles from West Stow where we could visit our friends with less travelling. Brian worked for Guildford Homes at the time and sold us our first home, a cedar clad bungalow, delivered in kit form by lorry, and erected in Battisford. We spent many happy hours in the delightful company of Wendy and Brian at Chimney Mill and although my job later relocated us back in Buckinghamshire the friendship never waned and we kept in touch mainly through our Christmas letters and occasional meet-ups. Our dear friend Wendy was unquestionably one of the kindest, loving and fun people you could meet and she will be sadly missed as too is her adventurous and gentle husband, also our friend, Brian. Love to all her gorgeous children Derek Alway
